Driver In Head-On Crash Was On Drugs: Cops

NORWOOD, MA — A Westwood man was arrested last Tuesday following a car crash on Neponset Street between Pendergast Circle and Dean Street.

At about 9:30 p.m., police received a report of a head-on collision on the road. Witnesses on scene told police that one of the vehicles involved allegedly went directly into the path of the other. After an investigation, Salim Mansour, 25, was placed under arrest and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession heroin, and marked lanes volation.

Police believe that Mansour was also involved in an earlier crash on Interstate 95. That incident is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police.
