Driveway Removed From Wendy's, BJ's Route 1 Project

The planning board recently reviewed a proposal to put a fast food restaurant and gas station on Route 1 near Sumner Street.

NORWOOD, MA — A revised plan for a proposed Wendy's and BJ's gas station on Route 1 was heard by the Planning Board at their June 12 meeting.

The owners of the office building at 1420 Boston-Providence Highway are hoping to knock down the building, split the property into two, and bring the fast food restaurant and gas station to the corner of Route 1 and Sumner Street.

Due to resident complaints and concerns about traffic, one of the two driveways on the Sumner Street property has been removed, according to the Norwood Record. Two driveways remain on the Route 1 side.
