Bike ride: Blackstone River Bikeway

Our most popular ride last year. Twenty miles total round trip on a level, paved, car-free bikeway that’s been called “everything a bike path should be,” it features pleasant riding along a “linear park,” with views of the river and old mills.

A brief stop at the free Captain Wilbur Kelly House Transportation Museum offers a glimpse of history.  (Water and a restroom are available to small groups). A portion of the old canal is visible nearby.

Children under 18 are welcome if accompanied by parents.

After the ride, those interested may choose to go on to visit the Museum of Work and Culture located a mile from the bikeway with exhibits on mill workers and Woonsocket’s French Canadian heritage.

HELMET REQUIRED. You must sign a waiver releasing bike club from liability. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED, preferably on bike club website http://www.bikenorwood.com, or by email to dan@bikenorwood.com, or phone 781 762-4240.
