Fire Reported At Neponset Street Apartment

From the Norwood Fire Department:

Shortly after 3 p.m. Oct. 18, Norwood Fire dispatch received a call reporting a structure fire at the 301 Neponset St. apartment complex.

At the scene, firefighters reported smoke showing. Engine 4 arrived on the scene and stretched an attack line through a heavy smoke condition to the seat of the fire and began extinguishing the fire. Ladder 1 searched the floor above the fire and adjacent units for any victims and fire extension. Engine 2 secured a water supply from a hydrant and NA-3 crew searched the fire apartment and assisted with ventilation and overhaul.

Crews operated for about an hour. Norwood Fire investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
