UPDATED: Firefighter Seriously Injured After Falling Off Roof on Norwest Drive

The firefighter was battling a two-alarm fire.

Norwood Firefighters wrote on Twitter on Friday night that the firefighter was seriously injured, but he “is expected to make a full recovery.”

“Please avoid the area of Nahatan Street west of Prospect Street and allow the fire departments to do their job. Expect delays and expect to be detoured if you go near this area.”

A firefighter was injured battling a two-alarm fire on Norwest Drive in Norwood on Friday afternoon.

NECN reported the firefighter was injured after falling off the roof at 802 Norwest Dr. CBS Boston reported that the firefighter was taken to an area hospital via MedFlight.

The extent of the person’s injuries is not known.
