Forums To Explore Possible Later Start Time for Norwood High School
Both forums will take place at the GSU Lecture Hall at Norwood High School.

NORWOOD, MA — Parents interested in a potential new start time for Norwood High School will have two chances to learn more this month.
The school committee’s start-time subcommittee will hold forums on the issue at 3 p.m. on June 13 and at 7 p.m. on June 20. Both forums will be at the GSU Lecture Hall at Norwood High School.
School committee member Maura Smith said last week that the purpose of the forums is to present research and discuss if this is something the community wants to pursue and the best way to do so.

“Primarily we want to answer that question is this something we want?” Smith told the school committee last week.
In past meetings, the committee was generally supportive of moving the start time, but also wanted to hear the potential concerns from students, parents, teachers, transportation staff, and those involved in after school activities.

Local schools, including Sharon, Newton, and Hanover, have moved to a later start time but the process to get there could take up to two years.
