Hannaford Being Sold to Another Supermarket Chain

The Hannaford in Peabody is one of eight Massachusetts locations that is set to be acquired by a new supermarket chain.
Big Y Foods Inc., a family-owned supermarket chain based in Springfield, is moving east. The company is expected to take control of Hannaford locations in Easton, Kingston, Milford, Norwell, Norwood, Peabody, and Saugus in September.

The Norwood Hannaford is located at 434 Walpole St.

Big Y said it hopes to keep as many Hannaford employees as it can.
