Hyde Park Man Faces Drug Distribution Charges In Norwood

Joshua Pierre-Louis, 29, was arrested Thursday and charged with distributing cocaine.

NORWOOD, MA – A Hyde Park man faces drug distribution charges in Norwood, police said.

Joshua Pierre-Louis, 29, was arrested Thursday and charged with distribution of cocaine and possession with of a Class D drug with intent to distribute. He was arraigned Friday morning in Dedham District Court and is free on $1,000 cash bail.

This winter, police learned that Pierre-Louis was allegedly selling cocaine in Norfolk County. An undercover officer called the suspect Thursday and asked if they could by drugs from him. After the transaction was made at a Route 1 business, officers at the scene took Pierre-Louis into custody, according to a police report.

Police allegedly recovered a gram of cocaine, 23,4 grams of marijuana, $200 in cash, an iPhone, and a wallet from the suspect. Inside Pierre-Louis' vehicle were 4.3 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and sandwich bags, police said.

The two bags of drugs bought by the undercover detective tested positive for cocaine.

No other details were available due to the on-going nature of the investigation.

He is due back in court March 5.
