Jamaica Plain Man Charged with Cocaine Possession in Norwood
Police say Luis Alberto Arias was in possession of 26 bags of cocaine at the time of his arrest.

From the Norwood Police Department:
NORWOOD, MA — Wednesday afternoon, detectives and officers of the Norwood Police Department arrested Luis Alberto Arias, 28, of Jamaica Plain, and charged him with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The arrest of Arias capped a three-month investigation by Officer Silva, Norwood Police detectives and detectives of the NORPAC Task Force. On Wednesday, detectives following Arias saw him pull to the side of the road, open the hood of his vehicle and remove something. They knew that Arias secreted the cocaine he sold under his hood. When officers moved in, they seized from Arias a knife and the bottle he had removed from under the hood. The bottle contained 26 bags of cocaine. He was carrying $750 in cash.
Arias was later released on $5,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Dedham District Court. Detectives seized his vehicle and the cash and will file for its forfeiture.
