Letter to the Editor: NHS Girls Volleyball Kicks Off an Active Offseason
Article and photos from Shannon Reen.
The Norwood High School girls volleyball team has already been stepping it up in their offseason. Just after finishing up their work at the concession stands during the Norwood Metro West basketball games they are already working on more fundraisers to do that will help their program.
One thing that they are doing is a volleyball night at Conrad's restaurant. Conrad's is hosting a fundraiser for NHS girls volleyball on Monday, April 18, which is the first Monday of April vacation. Join us throughout the day for lunch or dinner, eat in or take out and 20 percent of your bill will go back to girls volleyball. Remember to mention volleyball when you place your order. A portion of the money earned on Monday, April 18, will go towards the scholarship money for the 2010 seniors.
The NHS girls volleyball team is also selling sweatpants embroidered with a mustang on the front right leg with your graduation year displayed inside the mustang and your last name underneath the mustang. They have an open bottom with pockets and are available in navy, black, royal or sports grey in sizes adult small, medium, large and x-large. The cost is $25 and they make a great gift for those graduates as well as the underclassman for birthdays etc. To receive an order form email Mariereen@aol.com.

Look for more information in May about a volleyball clinic for girls entering grades 4-8 that’s in the works to be held over the summer as well as car washes we will be hosting. The girl’s volleyball team will be running these events. They hope to get more people involved in the program that they all love and have a great time playing.
