Liquor Licenses, Preschool Move Top Special Town Meeting Warrant

The Special Town Meeting is scheduled for Nov. 6.

NORWOOD, MA — More liquor licenses, more staff on the school side, and the moving of preschool from the Willette School to the Savage Center top the 19-article Special Town Meeting warrant.

On the second of two warrants for the fall meeting, town meeting members will consider two articles to petition the state for more liquor licenses. Article 1 calls for one while Article 2 specfically asks for up to two license for the Norwood Commerce Center on 61 Endicott St.

Article 8 seeks funds for the preschool move. At a recent school committee meeting, the board voted to make the move by March 1, pending the approval of $55,000 at Special Town Meeting. Article 6 asks for addtional funds for more preschool staff.

The school district is also requesting funds for an additional English Language Learner teacher.
