Man Wanted in Norwood Arrested Following Chase

Last Friday, Ahmauri S. Menard​, 21, was arrested in Cambridge on eight default warrants following a foot chase.

NORWOOD, MA — Another person on the list of Norwood's most wanted has been taken into custody by police.

Last Friday, Ahmauri S. Menard, 21, was arrested in Cambridge on eight default warrants following a foot chase, according to the Norwood Police Department. Police say they spent months conducting surveillance on areas in Norwood that Menard is known to frequent.

Menard was wanted on eight default warrants for various felony and misdemeanor offenses including carrying a firearm without a license, kidnapping, possession of a Class B substance, assault and battery on a pregnant victim, assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny from a person, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, witness intimidation, arrestee furnishing a false name, assault and battery, threat to commit a crime, and several motor vehicle offenses, police said.

Menard has 30 adult arraignments since 2008. He has been wanted by Norwood police since July 22 when he and two others allegedly fled a traffic stop on Route 1. Following a two-hour search, one of the passengers was found and identified Menard as the driver.

During the previous night, Menard allegedly cut off his GPS monitoring ankle bracelet that he had on as part of his probation. A warrant was filed charging Menard with eight different offenses and he has been wanted by the department since.
