Man Wanted in Norwood Knife Assault Turns Himself In

NORWOOD, MA — A man wanted for an early Thanksgiving morning encounter has turned himself in to police.
Stephen M. Dwyer was placed into police custody at the police station Friday morning. He was a wanted fugitive with an outstanding felony warrants assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and assault and battery, according to the Norwood Police Department.
During the early hours of Nov. 24, Dwyer allegedly violently attacked a group of people having a friendly gathering in Norwood, police said He attacked one victim by repeatedly punching him in the face with his fist and a knife. He then brandished the knife towards the group of partygoers before fleeing. The victim suffered extensive injuries due to the attack.

Police are contributing a Facebook post that was shared 407 times and reached 36,000 account as part of the reason Dwyer turned himself in.
