Nine Fail Norwood Liquor License Compliance Check
During a recent check, only half of the 18 businesses visited by Norwood Police passed the test.

NORWOOD, MA — Half of the businesses that were part of a liquor license compliance check were unable to pass the test, police said.
At Tuesday's selectmen meeting, Chief William Brooks notified the selectmen that nine establishments failed a round of compliance checks. The check consisted of the police department sending a minor operative into the establishments in an attempt to see if they would be sold alcohol.
The name of the nine businesses have not been released, but they will be asked to appear in front of the selectmen for liquor license violation hearings.

Selectman Bishop said he wanted to get the police reports and the establishments' past violations from the past 6-8 years before taking action. The board opted to wait and get that information before setting a hearing date.
The checks were conducted on Sept. 7. Police went to 18 establishments.
