Norwood Baseball Wins Division 1 State Title

The Mustangs beat St. Peter-Marian to win the title.

After falling short last year, the Norwood Mustangs are the MIAA Division 1 Baseball Champions.

Norwood captured their first baseball state title since 1943 Saturday, beating St. Peter-Marian 8-1 at Holy Cross, according to the Boston Herald.

Up 2-1 heading into the second inning, the Mustangs extended their lead on a three-run homer by Kevin Hines to put Norwood up 5-1. An RBI single by Connor Flynn and a two-run single by Dan Sullivan allowed Norwood to leave the inning with a seven-run lead.
