Norwood Down In Statewide School District Rankings

NORWOOD, MA — School Digger, a nationwide school rankings site, released its updated list of top Massachusetts schools and school districts Thursday, and the Norwood Public School System was ranked lower than it was a year ago. In the new rankings, which were based partially on MCAS test data the state released last week, Norwood was 152nd, down from 110th a year ago.

The rankings mean Norwood performed better up than 54.5 percent of all other districts in the state. That's below the high water mark of 66.9 percent posted in 2016.

Thursday's School Digger release also showed how individual schools in the district compared to every other school in the state:

• Prescott Elementary, 94th of 934 elementary schools.
• Cleveland Elementary, 298th of 934 elementary schools.
• Callahan Elementary, 355th of 934 elementary schools.
• Oldham Elementary, 465th of 934 elementary schools.
• Balch Elementary, 584th of 934 elementary schools.
• Coakley Middle School, 209th of 476 middle schools.
• Norwood High School, 146th of 340 high schools.
