Norwood High Scoreboad: Girls Lacrosse Team to Face Franklin in Tourney

GIRLS LACROSSE

The Norwood High girls' lacrosse team defeated Dedham, 16-11, Wednesday as Allison Ryan had six goals and two assists. Kacie Smith added four goals, Maura O'Neil, threee, Sammy Hayes, two and Valerie Quinlan, one. Sheila Carroll made nine save, while Arianna Woodley was a standout defensively. 

Norwood is the No. 13 seed in the Division 1 tournament and will be playing at No. 4 Franklin, May 29, at 4 p.m. Frankllin is 16-2 on the season, while Norwood is 9-7-2.

May 22: Norwood 16, Dedham 11

VOLLEYBALL

The Norwood High boys' volleyball team will be playing the winner of the Newton North-Brockton, May 29 at 7 p.m. at home. The Mustangs are the fourth-seed in the South with a 14-4 record. Newton South is the top seed at 18-2.

TRACK

May 25-Division 2 Championships at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, 9 a.m.

Competing for the Mustands will be for the girls, Jessica Murphy, 100, Sineed O'Brien, 200, 4 x 400 relay, for the boys, Jake Ryan, 100 and 200 meters, Anthony Negron, 400, 4 x 100 meter relay, TC Ugochukwu, high jump and triple jump, Jason Matova, long jump and Lonsdale Garrison, shot put.

BASEBALL:

Anthony Delmonaco provided the heroics off the bench for the Mustangs in their 3-2 win over Newton North to clinch a start of Herget Division title, their first since 2004. With the Mustangs down 2-0, he came off the bench, delivering a fielder's choice ground out for the first run of the game.
