Norwood Hospital Receives National Recognition from Healthgrades for Excellence

Norwood Hospital announced that it has achieved the Healthgrades 2015 Patient Safety Excellence Award™, a designation that honors hospital performance in the prevention of serious, potentially preventable complications during hospital stays. The distinction places Norwood Hospital among the top 5% of hospitals in the nation for its excellent performance as evaluated by Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.

This is the third year in a row that Norwood Hospital has earned this achievement. Thirteen Patient Safety Indicators were evaluated by Healthgrades in the study period, with only 467 hospitals across the nation achieving this designation.

Norwood Hospital has also received the General Surgery Excellence Award from Healthgrades for the 2nd consecutive year. Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 33 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions. This award indicates that Norwood Hospital outperforms other hospitals in the nation, earning a 5-star rating and that its clinical outcomes are significantly better than expected.
