Norwood Man Arrested Twice in One Day For Break-ins
Police say Thomas J. Dimarzo attempted to break into multiple homes.

NORWOOD, MA — A Norwood man just couldn't seem to stay out of trouble, getting arrested twice Saturday, police said.
Thomas J. Dimarzo, 33, was originally arrested following a house break-in early Saturday morning and was taken back into custody almost immediately following his release, according to the Norwood Police Department.
At 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of a break-in at a home on Silver Street. Officers from Westwood found the suspect's vehicle on Bay Colony Drive, just past the Westwood town line. The driver, identified as Dimarzo, admitted to breaking into the home but said he was sleepwalking. He was arrested and charged with possession of a Class C substance (clonazepam) and illegal possession of a Class E substance (gabapentin).

After Dimarzo posted bail, the midnight shift once again crossed paths with the Norwood man following a report of a suspicious man in the backyards of homes on Sycamore Street and Brierwood Drive, both areas near Dimarzo’s Hickory Road address, police said. During the investigation, police say they received more reports of break-ins on the two streets and Spruce Road. Police say cash and scratch tickets were taken.
Dimarzo was taken into custody a short time later. He was allegedly found dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and with cash and scratch tickets, police said. He was charged with breaking and entering and four counts of attempted breaking and entering. He remained in police custody through the weekend and was scheduled to be arraigned in Dedham District Court Monday.
