Norwood Man Charged After Vehicle Break-Ins

NORWOOD, MA — A Norwood man is facing charges after witnesses reported seeing someone enter a parked pickup truck on Pleasant Street, police announced on Sunday.

James Rossignoll, 59, was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle in the daytime with intent to commit a felony. Police said officers found Rossignoll a short distance from the business after the truck’s owner confronted him and he left on foot.

During the investigation, officers noticed similarities between Rossignoll and a person recorded entering vehicles near Quincy Avenue on July 23, according to police. Police released the surveillance footage here.

Rossignoll later admitted he was the person shown in the earlier surveillance footage, police said. Investigators are seeking additional criminal charges in connection with those incidents.

Police credited witnesses and surveillance video with helping officers identify a suspect. The department urged residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables and report suspicious activity.
