Norwood Man Charged With Stealing Car That He Returned

Police say the suspect stole a running car, but returned it a short time later.

NORWOOD, MA — A Norwood man was arrested Thursday after allegedly jumping into someone else’s car and taking it for a spin.

At 6:30 p.m., police received a report from Central Street that her car was stolen. The victim told police that she had started her car to warm up and had walked a short distance away when a man got into the vehicle and drove off.

As officers searched the area, the caller said the man returned the vehicle, parked it, and was now walking away. The caller was able to provide a description of the male. He was located by responding officers and after further investigation, Woodley Laurole, 25, of Norwood, was arrested. He was charged with use of motor vehicle without authority.
