Norwood Man Charged With Striking Police Cruiser and Fleeing

John Undzis, 57, was arrested Monday night and charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash with injury.

WALPOLE, MA — A Norwood man struck two cars, including an unmarked police cruiser, and fled into his hometown, police said.

John Undzis, 57, was arrested Monday night and charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash with injury, according to WCVB.

Police say Undzis hit the cars while driving near the intersection of Washington Street and Route 27. After allegedly striking the vehicles, he drove away at speeds over 85 mph.

Undzis was arrested at gunpoint in Norwood and told police he was afraid to stop because he had a suspended license.

The officers in the unmarked cruiser suffered whiplash and back injuries.
