Norwood PD Investigating Possible​ Child Abduction Attempt

NORWOOD, MA— Police in Norwood are investigating a possible child abduction attempt from a school bus stop at the intersection of Buckminster Drive and Wickham Way.

A female student told police that a man in a vehicle drove up to her at about 8 a.m. Friday morning and tried to start a conversation. The man then said that the student's father was in a car accident and her mother called him asking him to bring the child to the hospital. The student, aware that none of that sounded right, left the bus stop and went to a nearby friend's house.

The vehicle was described as a white or silver SUV being operated and the man is described as being tanned with a close-cropped beard, possibly in his 30’s.

The incident is under police investigation.
