Norwood Police Log: Drug Possession, OUI, and More

August 29
8:43 a.m. - Norwood Hospital security told police that they were wrestling with a man who fled the hospital. Police officers assisted with returning the man to the locked unit.

2:34 a.m. - An officer reported a male at the intersection of Ridge Street and East Cross Street who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel. The male, Richard Leger, 45, of West Newton, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
6:28 a.m. - Police received a "be on the lookout" from Walpole for a vehicle involved in a hit and run. It was determined that the driver also struck a vehicle in Norwood. After the car was located on Route 1 near the Norwood-Walpole town line, Kristina Cosgrove, 20, of Dedham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of a Class E drug.

6:57 a.m. - Stolen tires were reported on Neponset Street.
12:55 p.m. - A resident on Upland Road reported a vehicle that keeps showing up during the week. The driver, Dominic Johnston, 44, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense).
1:24 p.m. - A driver near the intersection of Adams Street and Railroad Avenue told police that a man was standing in the crosswalk and making hand gestures towards passing cards.
