Norwood Police Log: Fire From Fireworks, Failure to Stop for Police, and More

August 19

11:13 a.m. - A stolen computer and speaker were reported at the Courtyard on River Ridge Road.

8:58 p.m. - Kids possibly playing with scrap metal at Norwood Break and Alignment on Cedar Street were reported.

9:22 p.m. - A fire caused by fireworks were reported on Austin Street. Police were unable to find the kids who lit the fireworks.

August 20

12:38 a.m. - A caller on Washington Street reported three teenage boys walking with a backpack containing fireworks.

1:31 a.m. - During a traffic stop near Mobil Gas on Washington Street, Vasyl Chubei, 22, of Norwood, was arrested and charged with failure to stop for police, number plate violation, marked lanes violation, and a learner's permit violation.
