Norwood Police Log: Log, Car vs. Guardrail, and More

September 16

3:07 p.m. - A car crashed into a fence on Bellevue Avenue. The car was towed from the scene.

6:44 p.m. - A caller on Everett Street reported a car crash.

9:47 p.m. - A caller near the intersection of Route 1 and Dean Street reported a crash involving a vehicle and a guardrail. The caller stated that the vehicle left the scene of the accident and was described as a gray Mazda sedan or coupe, with heavy front end damage. Police were unable to find the vehicle.

2:13 a.m. - During a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 1 and Edgewater Drive, Patrick Morrissey, 24, of Bennington, Vt., was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, speeding, marked lanes violation, and possession of an open container of alcohol inside a motor vehicle.

6:16 a.m. - A skunk with a bottle stuck on its head was reported near the intersection of Upland Road and Prospect Street.

3:51 p.m. - A teen boy attempting to start a fire in the woods near Ellis Park was reported.
