Norwood Police Log: Man Gets Placed in Protective Custody Twice, Stolen Tires, and More

January 11

10:15 a.m. - A driver told police that his tractor-trailer truck was unable to clear the bridge on Dean Street and needed assistance to leave the area.

1:19 p.m. - A car that crashed into a building on Dean Street was reported.

3:51 p.m. - A drunk man entered a basement on Rock Street. Police reported that the man is a friend of a person who lives there. He was taken into protective custody and transported to Norwood Hospital.

January 12

5:45 a.m. - A man on Washington Street trying to flag down vehicles for a ride was reported.

6:44 a.m. - Three tires were removed from a vehicle at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Another report was received at 8:18 a.m.

4:07 p.m. - A person on Hillshire Drive left his vehicle and yelled at another drive that he was going to shoot her and made a motion to his waste. Police advised both drivers and no gun was involved.

6:58 p.m. - A caller at the Hampton Inn on Route 1 reported a person causing a disturbance. The person was placed into protective custody and released to a friend. The person jumped out of the car in Dedham, was located by police, and placed in protective custody again.
