Norwood Police Log: OUI, Drunk In A Snow Bank, And More

February 14
9:51 a.m. - A caller on Mylod Street told police that he went to start his vehicle and it began to smoke and catch on fire. Norwood fire was notified.
10:50 a.m. - A package theft was reported on Canton Street.

11:01 p.m. - During a traffic stop near the Westwood line on Nahatan Street, Mario Porrata, 34, of Roxbury, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor (second offense), failure to signal, marked lanes violation, and possession of an open container of alcohol inside a motor vehicle.
February 15

9:37 a.m. - Jernell Cook, 31, of Attleboro, was arrested at the Intersection of Railroad Avenue and Hill Street on five warrants.
12:40 p.m. - A student at Norwood High School was placed in protective custody.
4:49 p.m. - David Trusevitch, 36, homeless, was arrested at the intersection of Washington and Lenox Streets on a warrant and charged with possession of a Class E drug.
5:10 p.m. - A caller near Shaw’s on Nahatan Street reported a drunk person in a snow bank. The person was placed in protective custody and released to a family member.
