Norwood Police Log: Shoplifting, Assault, and More

March 10

6:36 p.m. - Loss prevention at Home Depot on Route 1 reported two men loading up a shopping cart with power tools and heading to a silver SUV. The men left cart inside the store and left on foot towards Stop and Shop. The SUV left towards Route 1.

March 11

12:10 a.m. - A car crash was reported at the intersection of Route 1 and Dean Street.

March 13

6:57 a.m. - A stolen landscaping truck was reported on Pleasant Street.

March 14

12:41 p.m. - A car went off Washington Street and into the woods. The car was towed.

March 17

8:39 a.m. - A caller on Nichols Street told police that a man struck him in the head and pushed him to the ground. The suspect, Thomas Fitzgerald, 30, of Norwood, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 or disabled.
