Norwood Priest Celebrates Nationally Televised Mass
Norwood Priest Celebrates Nationally Televised Mass with Norwood residents on January 5.

WATERTOWN, Mass. (January 5, 2016) – The daily Catholic Mass was celebrated at the Watertown studios of CatholicTV in the Chapel of Holy Cross.
Father Jean Aubin the Parochial Vicar at Saint Catherine of Siena Parish in Norwood, MA celebrated today’s daily Mass in honor of St. John Neumann. The congregation was made up of parishioners from Fr. Aubin’s previously assigned parish, St. Bridget Parish in Maynard, MA as well as St. Catherines. Lorraine Allan of St. Catherine of Siena Parish served as lector and Marlene Serres of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Waltham served Fr. Aubin at the altar.
St. Catherine of Siena was established in 1980, responding to the need of a parish for the arrival of a large amount of Irish Catholics fleeing from prosecution and poverty. In order to accommodate the large number of newly established Irish Catholics, a small Church in Norwood was purchased and established for 3,000 dollars. For 125 years St. Catherine of Siena has been serving the vibrant community of Norwood, including the youth that attend St. Catherine School.
