Before the start of the game, seven seniors were recognized for their career in the Maroon and Gold.  The Eagles (11-37, 3-23 ACC) outhit the Hokies (30-19, 13-14 ACC), 10-9, in the series finale as they tallied their third ACC win of the year. Gorman tallied his second save of the year, allowing two hits in 0.2 innings.
