Norwood Teacher Salaries Above State Average

NORWOOD, MA — Public school teachers in Norwood on average are paid above the average for Massachusetts educators, according to data from the state.

According to figures from the Department of Early and Secondary Education, the average salary of the 271 full time positions in the Norwood Public Schools during the 2014-15 school year was $76,466, about $1,500 more than the statewide average of $74,703.

317 school districts reported data to the state. Benefits such as summers off and pensions, negotiated between individual school districts and unions, were not included in the data.

Average wages were determined by dividing each district's total salaries and stipends by the number of full-time teachers employed in 2015.
