Norwood Teen Holding Clothing Drive
Project 351 launched an initiative that provides homeless children with every day essentials.

NORWOOD, MA - From Project 351: On March 26-April 6,2018- Jade Perry of Norwood , a ninth grader Alumni for Project 351, joins more than 370 other young leaders across the Commonwealth in the statewide youth-led service initiative to lead positive change in the lives of Children. Perry’s Spring Service will benefit Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit that provides low-income and homeless children with everyday essentials. This is Jade’s second year participating with Project 351. The Clothing drive is in progress. The dates for collection are March 19-April 6th . We are collecting, New, Like new or Gently used Clothing for ages 0-14 including New: Underwear and Socks and Pajamas and shoes up to adult size 10.
Last year the community donated over 29 large trash bags of clothing. I hope to exceed that this year.
Jade has set up two locations for drop off for clothing. Joe Drain, at Compete Athletic on Pleasant Street is supporting the clothing drive with Jade. Compete participated in a food drive in December with Project 351.. Compete Indoor Sports was built in 2016 to improve the athletic development and growth of teams and individual athletes through the facilitation of playing, practicing, and training with a commitment to high-level coaching all under one roof in a convenient location. They work with variety of age groups with all different abilities.

Extended day, Silvia Delaney, is participating for a second year with the clothing drive. Extended day
supports after school programming for local Norwood families.
Project 351 is a nonprofit,. Statewide -driven service organization that convenes an eighth grader from every city and town in Massachusetts and transformative year of leadership development, enrichments, and impact through unique service opportunities. Alumni ambassadors are students that have participated at eighth grade level and are continuing on with service.

In addition to spring service, Project 351 Ambassadors lead three additional statewide campaigns, United in Remembrance for Memorial Day , A partnership with Secretary of Veteran’s Services Francisco Urena, September 11 Tribute Service in Support of the Massachusetts Military Hero’s Fund and Fall service, a campaign to end hunger through support of hundreds of home town food pantries.
On May 12th , Governor Baker will convene ambassadors and alumni for Leadership Reunion at Gillette Stadium. Hosted by the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, Reunion features leadership workshops, high impact service and an annual Peace and Unity Walk in honor of Martin Richard with Bill and Denise Richard. A reunion highlight will be the celebration of Spring service impact.
