John J. Maher, of South Boston, longtime Norwood Elks Lodge and a former Norwood Little League coach, died Dec. 29.
He coached the Royals and the Longhorn in Norwood Little League and co-organized the first girls' Cinderella Baseball in Norwood in 1975.
Visiting hours will be at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St., South Boston, Friday from 9 a.m.. to 10:45 a.m. The funeral procession will leave at 11 a.m.. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Boston Veterans Homeless Shelter, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
