Obituary: Rita Lloy (Milan) Brown

Mrs. Rita Brown was an active member of the Norwood Senior Center and a volunteer at Norwood Hospital.

Rita Lloy (Milan) Brown, 89, of Norwood, died May 29, 2013 at the Blaire House in Milford,, after a period of declining health. She is survived by Robert Brown, her husband of 27 years, and was predeceased by her husband Donald Lloy, who passed away in 1982.

Born in Milford, the daughter of the late John and Mary Milan, she was raised and educated in Milford and later moved to Franklin, where she lived for many years after which she moved to Braintree.

She worked at the Quincy Visiting Nurse Association in Quincy before moving to Norwood, and was a volunteer at Norwood Hospital until last year. She was also an active member of the Norwood Senior Center. 

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Gib Lloy and his wife, Susanne, of Medway and a daughter, Donna Puopolo and her husband, Dr. Anthony Puopolo of Holliston, three step children, Bob Brown of Marlboro, Margie Ryan of Marshfield and Beth Brown of Walpole. She was also the mother of the late Bonnie Lloy Stone and Diane Lloy. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was the sister of the late John Milan, Joseph Milan, Sister Joseph Maria (Helen Milan), and Catherine Donegan.

Visiting hours will be on Saturday, June 1, from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Norwood Senior Center, 275 Prospect St., Norwood, MA 02062.
