Obituary: Virginia C. Grosso

Virginia C. (Bianchini) Grosso age, 87 years old, died in her Norwood home on Tuesday, April 5. Born in Franklin, Mass. on April 30, 1923; she was the daughter of the late Herman J. and Beatrice C. (Joyal) Bianchini. She graduated from Franklin High School with the class of 1940 and later graduated from the Wilford Academy in Boston with the class of 1943. She has been a resident of Norwood since 1947.

Mrs. Grosso owned and operated Virginia’s Beauty Shop in Norwood.

She was a member of the Sons of Italy, the Thursday morning Norwood Senior Mix Bowling League, and enjoyed dancing for 20 years with the Norwood Irregulars.

Beloved wife of Fred F. Grosso. Loving mother of Fred F. "Butch" Grosso of Mansfield, Susan Sopel of Torrence, Ca., Mary Ellen Cunningham and Thomas Grosso both of Mansfield. Cherished grandmother of seven and great grandmother of two. Sister of Therese Weiss of Pheonix, Ariz. and the late Gloria Okieneski.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Catherine of Siena Church on Monday, April 11 at 9:00 a.m. Visiting hours are Sunday, April 10 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home at 48 Common Street in Walpole. Interment is in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
