NORWOOD, MA — A Norwood man who was listed as one of Norwood's most wanted criminals and fled police twice was unsuccessful in this third attempt Sunday, police said.
Anthony Young, 36, was arrested on three warrants and charged with resisting arrest, according to the Norwood Police Department. Police say Young previously ran from police on Aug. 28 when officers in Westwood stopped a car he was a passenger in for a traffic violation and on Oct. 10 after he was pulled over for speeding in Norwood.
Sunday around 11 a.m., police in Norwood were conducting surveillance for Young. An officer recognized a male matching Young’s description walking on Nahatan Street near Blossom Street, police said. Police attempted to stop Young at the intersection Prospect Street and Railroad Avenue, but Young allegedly refused to surrender and fled. Following a chase and brief struggle behind a house on Pine Street, Young was taken into custody and arraigned in Dedham District Court on Monday morning.
