Police: Eight Houses Broken into Monday

The Norwood Police Department is looking for any information on the housebreaks, which all took place Monday.

Norwood Police responded to 8 residential housebreaks Monday. These housebreaks have occurred in the Railroad Ave, Edgehill Rd, Chickering Rd, Walters Rd, Highland Ave neighborhoods, along with the area of Lenox Street. Taken in these housebreaks are items easily concealed by the thieves such as jewelry and electronics.

Several witnesses reported seeing between 3-4 males (2 white and one black male in one report ) between 20-30 years of age and a dark colored Chevy type SUV in the area of these breaks. One witness reported that a white male was wearing a grey sweat jacket with a reflective line across the back, while others had dark hooded sweat jackets.

Residents are reminded that they should lock all doors and windows when they are not home, use inside and outside lighting to make the house visible, and not have bushes or trees outside their home obstruct doors and windows offering concealment to a thief.

The Norwood Police Department strongly encourages residents of the Town of Norwood to be aware of anything in their neighborhood that looks out of place. Suspicious activity should be reported immediately to the Norwood Police Department, using 911 for emergencies or 781-440-5100 for non-emergency calls.
