Police Log: Alleged Drunk Woman Crashes Car in Second OUI Offense

Thursday, Oct. 2
At 7:39 a.m., police reported a traffic light problem where the lights were flashing at the intersection of Nathan Street and Central Street. The electric and light department was notified.
At 9:16 a.m., police conducted a drug sweep of Norwood High School with a K9 unit on Nichols Street at the school’s request.

At 11:20 a.m., police arrested Dermot P. O’Brien, 52, 24 Cottage St. Apt. 8, for breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, larceny from a building and trespassing. Police reported O’Brien was found in the back room of Limey’s Pub on Washington Street.

At 3:22 a.m., police reported a gas leak that caused a strong odor of gas in a building on Adams Street. Norton Fire Department was notified and checked the building.
At 7:58 a.m., police responded to a bomb threat at Westwood High School on Nathan Street. Norwood police also reported a shooting threat. Officers provided assistance with traffic and crowd control and answering phone calls.
At 2:39 p.m. police reported a weapon on Lawndale Road in which the new homeowner was cleaning out a closet and found the weapon.
At 6:44 p.m., police reported an unwanted party at Norwood Hospital on Washington Street in which a patient was being combative and damaged property.
At 7:47 p.m., police arrested Donna M. Kane, 48, 30 Millbrook Rd. of Westwood, for a second offense of operating under the influence of liquor, a marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Police reported Kane was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Nathan Street.
Saturday, Oct. 4
At 9:56 a.m., police received a report of a syringe found on the field of Norwood High School. Police reported the item was plastic and not a syringe.
At 4:11 p.m., police arrested James Jesse Boran, 28, 571 Walpole St., for drug possession, drug possession with intent to distribute and possession of a large capacity feeding device. Police issued a search warrant to stop Boran’s vehicle on Walpole Street.
At 4:39 p.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident in which a mirror was damaged near Boston Providence Highway and Morse Street.
Sunday, Oct. 5
At 12:21 a.m., police reported an argument near Engamore Lane. Officers checked the area and did not find the source of the disturbance.
At 2:05 a.m., police reported a drunk person causing a disturbance on Norwest Drive. Police put the drunk person into protective custody.
