Police Log: Driver Leaves Scene After Rollover Crash

Excerpts from the Norwood Police Department log.

Thursday, Sept. 4

At 6:40 a.m., police reported a fire at Dedham Medical Associates on Providence Highway and River Ridge Drive where mulch on the median strip caught fire. Norwood Fire Department put out the fire.

At 8:40 a.m., police received an animal complaint of a dog in a gray car with the windows up at Norwood Hospital on Washington Street.

At 10:40 a.m., police reported larceny by credit card on Hawthorne Street.

At 11:34 a.m., police reported larceny at U-haul on Providence Highway where personal items were stolen from a truck.

At 12:45 p.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident on Morgan Drive and Vanderbilt Avenue that caused a motor vehicle to flip over. Norwood Fire Department was sent to the scene. A caller reported the accident was a hit-and-run and a silver sedan with damage fled north on Route 1.

At 5:38 p.m., police received a report of soliciting of a small group panhandling at Stop & Shop on Providence Highway. Officers spoke and advised the group.

At 6:03 p.m., police reported larceny of hubcaps stolen from a vehicle on Coventry Lane.

Friday, Sept 5

At 12:55 p.m., police reported a motor vehicle stop on Providence Highway where the operator’s license was suspended.

At 3:07 p.m., police reported suspicious vehicles on Downey Street and Everett Street where several cars were parked on the side of the road.
