Police Log: Man Dropped Pants and Defecated on Sidewalk

Excerpts from the Norwood Police Department log.

Thursday, Sept. 18

At 11:19 a.m., police reported a civil complaint regarding an issue over the amount of weight a patron uses while working out at Work Out World on Providence Highway. The patron refused to leave the gym despite the manager’s request.

At 11:32 a.m., police reported an animal complaint of a stray dog with no collar on Glendale Road.

At 3:08 p.m., police arrested Robert M. Cuddy, 53, 310 Dean Street, for carrying a firearm without a license, improper storage of a firearm and drug possession with intent to distribute after officers executed a search warrant on Cuddy’s home.

At 11:22 p.m., police reported public indecency where a man dropped his pants and defecated on the sidewalk near Everett Street and Washington Street. Police could not locate the suspect.

Friday, Sept. 19

At 1:26 a.m., police reported larceny of a phone that was stolen in Boston and tracked by GPS to Nathan Terrace parking lot on Centennial Drive. The issue was resolved on Saturday after the phone owner was notified that a friend took the phone for safe keeping after they went out the night before.

At 11:27 a.m., police reported larceny of cash taken from a bag while the party was at work on Washington Street. The thief was caught on camera and was fired.

At 8:13 p.m., police reported three missing juveniles on Winter Street.

Saturday, Sept. 20

At 3:53 p.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot entranceway of McDonald’s on Providence Highway.

At 7:19 p.m., police reported malicious damage where a three kids were throwing things at a motor vehicle on Village Road.

At 7:46 p.m., police reported fraud where a party was involved in a telephone scam on Howard Street.

Sunday, Sept. 21

At 3:24 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident on Margaret Street. Norwood Fire Department responded and the vehicles were towed.

At 1:10 p.m., police reported a missing person on Alandale Parkway. The person left two hours earlier without any personal possessions.

At 3:19 p.m., police reported larceny of a snowblower on Casey Street.

At 4:25 p.m., police reported a citizens complaint where a caller told police her 5-year-old son was pushed to the ground by an adult. Police spoke to both parties and resolved the situation.

At 8:25 p.m., police arrested Kevin D. McDermott, 33, 11 Prospect Ave., for drug possession near Winter Street and Elm Street after officers pulled over a suspicious vehicle in Highland Cemetery.
