Police Log: Norwood Hospital Reports Runaway Child

Tuesday, Oct. 21

At 6:51 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident on Vanderbilt Avenue and Providence Highway.

At 9:28 a.m., police reported auto theft at Marks Moving and Storage on Lenox Street. The car was returned while officers were on scene. An employee reportedly took the wrong car to run an errand.

At 1:15 p.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident in which a water delivery truck hit a pole and caused wires to hang low on Pleasant Street.

At 1:31 p.m., police reported two missing persons on Winter Street. Police reported the two missing parties were returned home.

At 2:40 p.m., police reported a stolen bicycle on Nathan Street and Silver Street.

At 5:38 p.m., police reported larceny at Jack Madden Ford on Providence Highway.

Wednesday, Oct. 22

At 8:40 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident in which a dog was hit by a truck near Dean Street and Pellana Road.

At 9:46 a.m., police reported a gas leak on Wilson Street. Norwood Fire Department and National Grid were notified.

At 11:39 a.m., police reported a hit and run on Pendergast Circle. A caller reported she was rear-ended by a black, four-door car with front-end damage.

At 1:18 p.m., police reported an animal complaint in which a white and tan cocker spaniel with tags was running around the neighborhood near Nichols Street.

At 7:54 p.m., police reported a runaway child from Norwood Hospital on Washington Street. The subject was entered into the National Crime Information Center.

At 9:17 p.m., police reported a fire in which a caller reported smoke in the building at Walgreens on Providence Highway. Norwood Fire Department responded to the incident.

Thursday, Oct. 23

At 1:11 a.m., police reported a road hazard in which there was flooding at the drain basin at Lime’s Pub on Washington Street.

At 2:06 a.m., police reported a road hazard in which there was flooding at the intersection of Prospect Street and Washington Street.

At 4:08 a.m., police reported a road hazard in which there was flooding at the catch basin by Old Derby Road and Wilson Street.
