Protest Planned for Donald Trump Norwood Fundraiser

While about 700 people are expected at an event Friday night featuring presidential candidate, businessman, and reality TV star Donald Trump, not everyone is thrilled to see the leading GOP candidate for president in town.

The National Abortion Rights Action League, or NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts, is planning a rally outside the event, scheduled to take place at the home of Ernie Boch Jr.

“Donald Trump isn’t just a nuisance, he’s bad for women,” Christian Miron, political director for the group, said in a statement. “Trump claims he ‘understands women,’ but he doesn’t understand that women must make their own reproductive choices. And he doesn’t understand that Massachusetts won’t let him get away with his outrageous antiwoman views.”

About 70 protestors are expected to take part in the protest, which is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. outside of Boch’s Sumner Street home.

Trump has been highly criticized for his past comments made towards women, which include, but are not limited to, implying that sexual assault in the military should be expected; calling opposing counsel in a deposition “disgusting” for wanting to pump breast milk for her 3-month-old daughter; calling Rosie O’Donnell an “animal,” an “extremely unattractive person,” and a slob during a 2006 feud; and most recently, his feud with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly which resulted in him calling the television host a “bimbo” and a ”lightweight.”

Trump is expected to take part at the event called “Ernie’s Summer Bash.” An invitation to the $100-a-head event stated that there will be cocktails and live music.
