It might not come as a surprise to many: the economy hasn't fully recovered to what it once was before the "Great Recession."

Yesterday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped — some used the word tanked — more than 500 points, making it the worst single-day drop since October 2008. Global markets are following suit as well.

How that affects the local economies of the U.S. is anyone's guess. Some say the market is correcting itself, others are more fearful.
