Following a vote at the Annual Town Meeting, marijuana businesses are officially not welcomed in Norwood.
During the five-night meeting, town meeting members completed the two-step dance needed to prevent all recreational marijuana business and dispensaries from setting up shop in town, according to the Boston Globe. For a town to not allow marijuana operations, a bylaw must pass the ballot and a town legislative body, in Norwood's case, town meeting.
Voters opted for the ban at April's election and in November, voted against Question 4, the ballot question that made it legal for adults over the age of 21 to consume and purchase marijuana from licensed businesses.
