Rematch Set for Selectmen Race

Voters at the Annual Town Election will also be asked to ban all recreational marijuana businesses in town

NORWOOD, MA — Next month's town election will feature a rematch in the selectmen race.

Kevin Pentowski is again challenging incumbents Allan Howard and Paul Bishop. In 2014, Howard and Bishop won seats on the board, besting Pentowski.

The only other contested race sees Robert Donnelly, David Hajjar, and John Raymond Hall Jr. are vying for a one-year vacancy on the finance commission.

Maura Smith and Teresa Marie Stewart are running for open two school committee seats.

Voters will also be asked to ban recreational marijuana businesses in town. If approved, the town will adopt two amendments to the town bylaws and zoning bylaws, all marijuana cultivators, testing facilities, product manufacturers, retailers, and any other type of marijuana-licensed business will be prohibited. The vote does not affect medical marijuana laws.
