Saturday With the NBA, Norwood Style
The NBA closed out the 2010/2011 intramural season with a day of fun and an afternoon of intense, energy packed games.
The Norwood Basketball Association closed out another successful intramural season on Saturday at the Savage Center Gymnasium.
The day began with the annual NBA Carnival. Kindergarten through third graders enjoyed a morning of music, games, contests, face painting and many, many prizes. Joe Costa, former NBA board member, got everyone on their feet as he lead parents and kids in such dance moves as the YMCA.
Championship intramural basketball games began at 12:15 at the Savage Center.

The afternoon began with the seventh and eighth Grade boys. Keady Pest Control (Green) took home the honors over Norwood Light (Navy) in a close 44-42 finish, setting the tone for the games to follow.
The fourth and fifth grade girls played next at 1:30 p.m. and the game was about as intense as any game I have every seen. At the final buzzer it was the determination of girls on Team CVS (Red) who rallied over favored Keady Pest Control (Green) in an impressive 28-24 win.

The fourth and fifth grade boys game was perhaps the most emotional game of the day. With just seconds left and the crowd holding its breath, team Norwood Bank won 41-40 over team Reebok.
The coaches and parents game was another close one, ending with a tie at 49.
