Stoughton Man Sentenced for Norwood Bomb Threats
Anthony Rae emailed threats to schools in Chicago, Providence, and Norwood.

NORWOOD, MA — A Stoughton who admitted who emailed bomb threats to schools in Norwood, Chicago, and Providence was sentenced in U.S. District Court Wednesday.
Anthony Rae, 25, was sentenced to time served, approximately 17 months, in prison and three years of supervised release. In October 2016, he pleaded guilty to five counts of sending bomb threats, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
For a nine-month period starting in October 2014, Rae used multiple different email accounts to send bomb threats to educational institutions in three different states. The first threats were sent to an elementary school in Chicago, Ill. and several public schools in Norwood. After hacking his mother's email account, he sent two more threats ITT Technical Institute in Norwood, where he attended.

In June 2015, police obtained a search warrant for Rae’s residence and seized numerous electronic devices. The following day, Rae used a computer made available to residents in his apartment complex to send bomb threats to Rhode Island College in Providence. Police took Rae into custody on June 19, 2015 and he was charged federally last October.
