The path to a possible budget override began at last week's Norwood School Committee meeting.

NORWOOD, MA — The path to a possible Proposition 2 1/2 school budget override began at last week’s Norwood School Committee meeting.
The committee voted to appoint Chairwoman Myev Bodenhofer and Maura Smith to a override subcommittee to explore the process of proposing an override and the options available to them
Bodenhofer said the subcommittee would work with town officials who would be involved with planning an override and meet with other school officials.

The decision to form the committee comes after a tough budget season where the committee had to search for any possible cuts to reach their budget of $42.7 million.
If approved by voters, a budget override would add a predetermined total of tax revenue to the school budget.
