If you looked up the phrase “cool cat” in the dictionary, a picture of Jake would accompany the description. There has never before been a cat that has had his swagger, his grace, and his charm, all wrapped up into one cat.
He is the gentle giant of the shelter. After he finds a perch, usually the top of the tallest set of cages, he’ll sit there and keep his keen eye on things for you, making sure everyone behaves himself or herself, it seems. Only when you tell him it’s time to go back will he hop down, with the most grace that a cat of his size can possibly have, and strut back to his quarters.
A gray, domestic-short-hair, Jake is a rather large cat. He’s cautious around the kittens, yet will play with them just to keep them content. Compassionate doesn’t really sound like a way to describe a cat, but that’s exactly what Jake is. Anyone watching him interact with the others can notice him trying to make the other cats happy. He’s a people-pleaser of the cat world!
Jake is a cat that will cuddle with you, if he’s in the mood. He wants his space, and he definitely wants his high perch, but when he wants some attention, he’ll be the first to let you know. He’s a real sucker for neck rubs, and you’ll have him purring for sure if you can find his favorite spot.
With eyes so bold, they melt your heart when he looks at you; Jake is a very unique cat. He would be a great addition to a home with no other cats, or another cat. Older kids are better for him, for smaller kids may not give him the space he asks for at times, and he is an independent fellow; however, you may find yourself with an extra shadow once he gets to know you. Jake is a legitimate “cool cat”, and one worth dropping by the shelter for a visit.
